The History of Xixovic

In mid-1944, a couple of young newlywed entrepreneurs from Jijona arrived at Vic eager to open their own ice cream business. Lola was the daughter of farmers and at the age of eight years old she worked in a nougat factory nougat that existed in Xixona. Daniel had been working in Algeria making ice cream for a family from Jijona.  After fighting in the Spanish Civil War he began courting Lola.
In 1943 they married and then the restless spirit of Lola decided to fend for themselves on their own. They looked for places that could provide what they needed to make ice cream. They wrote to three ice factories throughout the country and opted for the choice of Mr. Juan Puigcerver, who had an ice factory in Vic. When they arrived at Vic they decided to work in the street with a cart at the Piazza Santa Clara Vic in front of Can Pallàs. The concession consisted of a truck with a ice cream machine that used ice and salt to freeze or form the ice cream mixture.
The early days were difficult and the low temperatures of the Plain made them think more than once in the option of returning home. But soon felt welcomed by families from Vic, which helped to carry forward the company they had started. With one concession fixed and another mobile things started to pick up. And in little time they had stable and trusted clients.
In 1947, when Sirvent-Llorens  had expanded the family business, marking the birth of their first born , Daniel. They rented a local store and started making their own ice cream and products.The product become popular and in little time they opened their first store along the Gran Passage. In 1960 Laura( their second child) was born also to help expand the business. Three years later Lola and Daniel moved the store that was at the Gran passage to the town square.
For several years the Sirvent family would live six months in Vic (during the ice cream season) and six months in Jijona( nougat season and off season). This also signified half school course in Vic and half in Jijona for Daniel. Both Daniel and Laura remember trips to and from Jijona that would take up to 24 hours.
The company was stabilizing, growing and modernizing and slush, the shirts, chocolates and ice cream bars went Sirvent of becoming part of everyday life for the majority of summer and Vic The Vic. In many homes, Vic and outside, not missing, of course, the nougat Xixo Christmas.
Currently, during the time of nougat, XixoVic even those who work in cooperatives Jijona, where some of their produce candies with raw material suppliers. The rest of the homemade nougat workshop in New Street.
With the push of a brave couple who one day decided to leave Jijona and the relief taken by the new generations, now you can follow the story excrivint much effort and dedication, but also very sweet …

Orxata

Orxata
Orxata is a refreshing drink typical of Valencia, made from tiger nuts, sugar and water. It has many beneficial properties for the body and is very digestive because of its high starch content and amino acids. While energy is nutritious and rich in minerals such as phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, calcium and iron and is also rich in vitamin E and vitamin C. We make our Orxata  following the traditional recipe completely handmade. We use quality ingredients, including the tiger nuts ofAlboraya, which are a product with Protected Designation of Origin. We get handpicked tiger nuts from a producer who has years of close relation with us . In order to offer a fresh and quality product to our clients. It is through this commitment to quality that our tiger has become a highly recognized and very popular
Granissat
The Granissat  is a refreshing drink made from chopped ice and fruit of different favours .Our slushy type drinks are handmade with the highest quality ingredients. Torró Xixovic

 Alicante
It is a hard texture of nougat made with toasted Marcona almonds, honey, sugar and egg white. All these ingredients come from small producers with a long history and prestige that we support.Our Alicante nougat supreme quality  enjoys the distinction of Protected Geographical Indication. They are prepare ourselves in the town of Xixona following the traditional recipe.
Xixona
Like the nougat of Alicante, is a nougat with Protected Geographical Indication label also, which we produce in the town of Xixona.Aquest nougat is a variety of nougat crumb texture, made with toasted Macrona almonds, honey, sugar and egg white. To do so, we select the best  almonds and honey we can get from local growers that offer maximum guarantees and with whom we have a close relationship for years.

Chocolate Nougat
Chocolate almond nougat is one of the three varieties that produce a Xixona.It is a blend of 50% milk chocolate and 50% almonds.It has a hard texture unlike Xixona that adds variety to the other soft nougats.
Marzipan Nougat
Our nougat marzipan is made with traditional formula from Mollar almonds,lemon zest, simple syrup and candied fruit. The best process of making this nougat begins with the preparation of a water based syrup and sugar mix.Once the simple syrup reaches a particular temperature the almond flour is incorporated.Then we fill by hand each mold with candied fruit and marzipan layer by layer until it is filled. Giving it a unique and beautiful finish.
 Coconut Nougat
Our coconut nougat traditionally made from a base of syrup,  Marcona almond flour and dried  coconut, all of the highest quality ingredients. The almond flour and grated coconut mixed in equal parts as indicated in the recipe traditional. Between this sweet dough are drawn thin layers of dark chocolate, which gives a unique taste and personality to this nougat.
 Nougat Gema
This gem of a nougat  has become one of the most emblematic to Xixovic. Its flavor makes it a unique product and high quality. Also made with a simple syrup this nougat has the incorporation of egg yolks. Giving it a creamy and soft texture to it. Once the nougat is cut we add sugar to the finished product and burn this sugar until it is crunchy. Adding yet another variable that makes this nougat outstanding.
 
Walnut and Cream Nougat
The basis of this nougat is made, as in most of our assortment of nougats with almond flour, made from Marcona almonds. In addition we add Walnuts from California and heavy cream.
Praline Nougat
The praline is a paste made from roasted hazelnuts, sugar, milk and coco butter. The mixture of these ingredients is obtained and released when it enters your mouth.It is for those who have a sweet palate and enjoy toasted hazelnuts.
Gema with Cinnamon Nougat
This is a variant of the classic gems nougat , with which it shares much of the recipe. The variant is to incorporate thin layers of cinnamon in between layers of the gema base.
